Pretec supplies for the new alternating current line between Sweden and Finland
Svenska kraftnät, together with the Finnish transmission system operator Fingrid, is building a new 400 kV alternating current line between Messaure in northern Sweden and Pyhänselkä outside Oulu in Finland. The line – called the Aurora Line – has been classified as a Project of Common Interest (PCI) by the EU and forms an important part of the green industrial transition in Northern Europe. The new connection is planned to be commissioned at the end of 2025.
During 2024, Pretec has had the privilege of supplying products to NYAB Sverige AB, one of the contractors in the project. The delivery includes, among other things:
Hot-dip galvanized threaded rods in dimensions M24 up to M64, class 8.8
Nuts, washers, and anchor plates
Base plates and stud bolts for type A transmission line towers
All products are manufactured with short lead times and fully in accordance with Svenska kraftnät’s specifications – with a strong focus on high quality, precision, and delivery reliability.
We are proud to contribute to such a significant infrastructure project that strengthens both electricity supply and the sustainable energy transition in our region.
