Just outside Gothenburg, the new residential area Wendelstrand is taking shape in Mölnlycke. Around 1,000 homes are planned here, and at the heart of the neighbourhood rises the impressive Lakehouse Wendelstrand – a central meeting place for residents and visitors alike.

Lakehouse is an ambitious and exciting construction project with a glued laminated timber frame. The building has a roof with a 12-degree slope and extends over five floors, reaching a total height of 16 metres and a length of no less than 100 metres. The total building area amounts to 6,264 square metres.

The house is designed to become a hub for community and activity in the area, offering a wide range of functions such as a restaurant, café, shops, gym, offices, and event spaces.

We at Pretec are proud to have supplied our ASDO tie rods for this project. Our tie rods are particularly well suited for glulam constructions and help ensure the building’s stability and strength – something that is crucial in large timber projects like Lakehouse.
