Marieholm Tunnel
Contractor: ZÜBLIN Scandinavia AB
Location: Gothenburg
Year: 2014-2020
According to the Swedish Transport Administration, the Marieholm Tunnel in Gothenburg is designed to bring Hisingen closer to the mainland and ease the heavy traffic load on the Tingstad Tunnel.
The tunnel, approximately 500 meters in total length, is being built as a 300-meter immersed tunnel connected to 100-meter cut-and-cover sections. It consists of three joined segments, weighs 250,000 tons, and includes six lanes—three in each direction.
At Pretec, we supplied welded custom products in acid-resistant duplex steel, threaded rods, and embedded components in the same material, as well as special products developed in collaboration with the contractor ZÜBLIN.
