Disposal and recycling of pallets

Reduced Disposal – One of Our Key Environmental Goals

Reducing material waste is one of our key environmental goals. We have chosen this focus because it significantly impacts both our internal processes and the world around us. Many of our materials and products are manufactured in Asia, and discarding them not only wastes valuable resources but also leads to unnecessary transportation, increased energy consumption, and higher CO₂ emissions.

To address this challenge, we actively work with improved quality control, optimization of our manufacturing processes, and close collaboration with our suppliers. By reducing waste in our production, we can both conserve resources and lower our climate footprint. We measure our progress relative to our turnover to ensure that the goal remains relevant regardless of market conditions.

In 2022, we succeeded in reducing material waste by 24%, and in 2023, we improved further to 33.3%. These achievements mark important progress, but we recognize there is still work to do. Our goal for 2025 is to reduce material waste to below 0.02%. We are not quite there yet, but our new facilities provide greater capacity to store leftover materials from production while maintaining full traceability, something that will have a positive impact on our continued efforts to reach this target.

Recycling of pallets

Within our operations, a large number of pallets with collars are handled daily, both for outgoing deliveries to construction projects and incoming goods from suppliers. To reduce our resource consumption and environmental impact, as well as promote a circular economy, we have implemented an initiative to repair and recycle these pallets. By reusing wooden packaging, we can conserve natural resources, reduce waste, and avoid unnecessary production.

We have established routines for inspecting, repairing, and reusing pallets to the greatest extent possible. Pallets that cannot be repaired are used for spare parts for others or are responsibly recycled.
